Baboon Kaki
rescued from
French circus

Locked away for many years in a circus trailer

Locked away all alone in a circus trailer. No fresh air, no distractions and no contact with his peers. Life must have been tough for the circus baboon Kaki. He therefore needs all the help he can get.

A lonely existence

We don’t know much about Kaki’s life, but we do know that he never had a baboon-worthy life. He was born in a French zoo that had a very bad reputation, then transferred to a large French circus and ended up in the circus where he has been locked up for years now. Two years ago the female with whom he shared the circus wagon died. The last time he saw a group of baboons was at least ten years ago. For social animals like baboons, a terrible existence. Kaki does not know how to make contact with fellow baboons. We also noticed already during the rescue that he is showing abnormal behavior.

Kaki’s life is finally about to change

Fortunately, Kaki’s life is about to change for good. He has been rescued and he can slowly learn to live with other baboons again. He also gets to enjoy space, the outdoors, and things to play with. We are so happy for Kaki!

Costly

We are doing everything we can to help Kaki recover. This is an intensive and very expensive process. One day of care for Kaki costs about 38 euros, this includes costs for healthy food, housing and expert medical care.

Please help give Kaki the care and love he so deserves.
