Tiger Aqua Moves to New Home

Good news about tiger Aqua: He has recently found a wonderful new home! After a long recovery period at AAP, he has now moved to a beautiful enclosure at our outplacement partner Noah’s Ark in England.

Rescued from horrific transport

At the end of 2019, Aqua was transported from Italy to Russia with nine other tigers under appalling conditions. The animals were locked in cramped cages. At the Polish border, he was rescued from this horrific transport just in time. Together with his fellow tigers Softi, Toph, Sanson and Merida, he was brought to our rescue centre in Spain after a short stay at Poznań Zoo in Poland.

At AAP, we have worked hard to rehabilitate the tigers. Softi, Toph, Sanson and Merida were outplaced earlier, but Aqua needed more time to recover. Fortunately, the time finally came for him to move to his new home.

About Outplacements

As with most rescued animals in our centres, once they have recovered, we look for a suitable forever home for them.

Of course, we only outplace animals to parks and sanctuaries that can guarantee excellent care. The animals get a home where they can stay for the rest of their lives. At the same time, we create space in our rescue centres for other animals in need. Read more about the outplacement of animals.
